Departmental Talk on Khasi Matrilineal Women of Meghalaya in Historical Dimensions, by Dr. O.L.Snaitang, on 4th July, 2018

Report :

Well attended by Sociology Honours students, the Talk provided immense insight, especially to students belonging to nonKhasi community, on this unique practice among the Khasis. The interaction was heartening.

Objective :

To equip students with the knowledge of this unique family system.

Expected outcomes :

Students will be able to appreciate differences in cultural family practices which are different from theirs and also the status of women in Meghalaya as against other states in India

The Motto
