INSTITUTIONAL BIOTECH HUB

    Profile:

    The Institutional Biotech Hub, Lady Keane College, Shillong was inaugurated on 23rd June 2011. The inaugural function was held in the College Seminar room with Prof. V. Tandon from the Department of Zoology, NEHU as the Chief Guest and Prof. N.K Chrungoo from the Department of Botany , NEHU who is also the coordinator of the State Level Biotech Hub, NEHU, as the Guest of Honour.

    It consists of the following members:-

    The Institutional Biotech Hub laboratory is equipped with instruments like

    • Trinocular Research Microscope (Labomed) with Digieye 330/210 camera installed with Dewinter Capture Pro 4.1 Software.
    • Mini Western Blotting System (Medox)
    • Gel Rocker with Electronic Timer (Medox)
    • Horizantal Gel Electrophoresis Unit (Technosource)
    • Vertical Gel Electrophoresis Unit (Technosource)
    • Digital pH Meter (Chemiline)
    • Electronic Balance (Shinko) etc.

    • Talk cum Awareness Programme on “How are the various drug formulations (tablet, capsule, etc.) manufactured?” for the BSc 2nd Semester Students. Date : 29th February, 2016 Venue : Lady Keane College, Shillong
    • Five – Day Training Programme on “Significance of Biomolecules in Clinical Diagnosis” for students of B.Sc. 3rd year Life sciences . Date : 30th Nov – 4th Dec 2015 Venue : Lady Keane College, Shillong
