[NEW ADMISSION FOLLOWING NEP-2020]

INTRODUCTION: The purpose of the education system is to develop good human beings capable of rational thought and action, possessing compassion and empathy, courage and resilience, scientific temper and creative imagination, with sound ethical moorings and values. It aims at producing engaged, productive, and contributing citizens for building an equitable, inclusive, and plural society as envisaged by our Constitution. One of the main principles of the new education policy of India (NEP-2020) to be soon implemented in our College includes multidisciplinarity and a holistic education across the sciences, social sciences, arts, humanities, and sports for a multidisciplinary world in order to ensure the unity and integrity of all knowledge. Moreover, NEP-2020 puts an emphasis on conceptual understanding rather than learning for exams.

COURSES OFFERED:
A Student applying for Admission in Lady Keane College will have to choose any one of the following Major Subjects:

** Important information

1. A Student opting for any of the Major Courses (except Professional Courses) will have to opt for one of the Minor Courses mentioned below (Major & Minor Courses must be from two different subjects). A Minor Course can be chosen at a later stage after Admission & Counselling in the College.

2. One Multi-Disciplinary Course (MDC), one Ability-Enhancement Course (AEC) and one Skill Enhancement Course (SEC) are compulsory. A Student can choose any one from the lists given below at a later stage only after the Guideline/Ordinance is approved by the Academic Council of North-Eastern Hill University, Shillong.

3. Environmental Science as a Value Added Course (VAC) is compulsory for all students in the First Semester.
